How Ooni cut global campaign production from days to hours with Bannerflow
Selling in over 60 markets, Ooni has to make its pizza ovens feel local to cooks everywhere, with creative that fits different tastes and languages and keeps pace with short, time-sensitive sales.
By moving creative production to Bannerflow, Ooni cut a small part of a global campaign from two to three days to about three hours. The team now localizes, updates, and launches campaigns from one place, and can change a discount mid-sale without weeks of rework.

About Ooni
Ooni designs and sells high-performance, portable pizza ovens, with a mission to help people make great pizza at home. Since launching in 2012, the company has made wood-fired pizza more accessible, selling through wholesale in over 60 markets and direct-to-consumer in roughly 30.
The Challenge
One product everyone knows. Very different tastes in every market.
Pizza is a global product, but preferences are not. Ooni needed a large volume of creatives shaped around different cultures and languages, across dozens of markets, often for sales with a hard end date.
Producing all of that by hand was slow. "A small part of a global campaign, internally, used to take us two to three days, just to produce the first sketch of it in English," says Emilija Hanna of Ooni. With six or seven products in play, a single campaign could take a month.
The workflow added friction too. Design and content passed drafts back and forth many times before approval, and the creative team was tied up with both production and optimization.

A scalable creative automation workflow built for localization
Ooni was already using another creative management platform, Smartly, but its pricing was tied to ad spend, and it was limited to social platforms and the outputs those integrations supported. The team compared Celtra, Storyteq, and Bannerflow, and chose Bannerflow for how well it scales creatives and manages sizes.
Templates and easy image replacement now cover many of the small changes that used to go back to the creative team. Built-in collaboration features let designers and the content team give feedback and apply changes in one place.
Adoption was quick. Designers needed a couple of days to get comfortable, and the first campaign launched within three weeks. Ooni also points to the Customer Success team, citing fast response times and smooth onboarding for new team members.
What we found when we compared all three is that Bannerflow had the best option for scaling creatives, the easiest management of what is very important to us: tailoring sizes.

Time-sensitive sales, handled without the scramble
Ooni runs urgent sales campaigns two to four times a year, and the offer sometimes changes midway through. Bannerflow lets the team localize quickly and change details such as a discount percentage without rebuilding creatives.
2,000 creatives for Black Friday, in a week
Ooni created and deployed a Black Friday campaign of 2,000 creatives in one week. Before Bannerflow, a campaign of that size took around a month.
Ooni also ran an internal study to measure the hours saved. A small part of a global campaign that took two to three days now takes about three hours.
We might start a sale with a 20% discount, then realize we need to increase it. With Bannerflow, we can make those changes instantly. What used to take weeks of work is now quick and easy.
